I have achieved good results in the portfolio of Toolbox Session. Except for the score of B in Research and Subject Knowledge, all the other four criteria are A. I went back through my portfolio and identified a few areas where I could still improve.
First of all, I reflected on why I didn’t get the best score in the Research section. I think it’s because all my investigations are primary research. I just took photos of the artifacts in my museum and used them in my collage. But INSTEAD of studying the history and craftsmanship of the artifacts, if I had done that, my collage content would have been deeper, and my design would have been more oriented and supported by a stronger foundation. In the investigation of street graffiti, I should also know more about the author of each graffiti, browse more of his works and learn his painting skills. Therefore, IN this gallery research, I combined primary research and secondary research. I researched Araki’s photography exhibition. I took many photos and sorted them out to analyze the characteristics of each group of photos. I also read a lot about Araki online, about his life and creative background, and about the point he wanted to make with his photography. This enables my subsequent works not only to learn from Araki’s style superficially, but also to have more connotation and depth. I have summed up some research experience. I need to combine primary research and secondary research at the same time, and classify and integrate all the data I have collected. I need to have a deep understanding of the materials I collect. I can learn about them through the Internet or books.
I think the photos I took for the final product were not good enough. The reason I analyzed was that I was not fully prepared for the shooting, and I did not carefully arrange my shooting scenes and design makeup. I made the same mistake when I took a photo of my shoes in a Media Session. I only put background cloth on my shoes and didn’t have the right clothes or props for my shoes. So I customized a new shooting plan, this time I built a perfect scene in accordance with my theme, coordinated the collocation of shoes and my whole body, prepared a professional camera and some props, and designed some interesting actions for the shooting. I also borrowed the style of Araki’s photos in the later retouching. This time, my shoes, the model, the setting and the final picture all matched my subject.
The final slide style of my Toolbox Session is not uniform enough, without strong personal characteristics. Therefore, when typesetting and making slides this time, I put my personal style into my typesetting. I used a uniform tone and font, and the way the pictures were arranged was more characteristic. Make my whole slide look like a whole. Although the teacher does not have strict requirements on typesetting, I think the exquisite typesetting can make my homework look more perfect.
I also have some advantages that I should continue to maintain. For example, I have explored the field of sustainable development and learned new experimental methods when making my products. In the following study, I will continue to explore my unknown areas and combine the concept of sustainable development with my own design. I have a reasonable plan for my time. I will customize my schedule and finish the corresponding homework within the specified time. I should keep this good habit, it can help me to do my homework more clearly.
