In this class, I learned public relations and communication concepts, fashion news and content creation. I have learned two ways of writing fashion news: Q&A and Article. I also learned about the work content of Fashion Public Relations Specialists and the promotion methods of some brands. Such as setting up pop-up shops and using brand ambassadors.
This was the first time I learned about the fashion PR industry, and I found that they can help brands establish closer ties with customers and use marketing methods to help brands get more attention.
I came up with a PR concept for my shoes after class. I am very interested in the pop-up shop introduced in class. This kind of sales method is very popular in recent years. I have visited several pop-up shops, whose decoration style is often more creative than ordinary shops of brands, and they usually set up some small games or interesting activities. When I visited Araki Nobuyoshi’s photography exhibition, I was impressed by a bunch of flower arrangements in the middle of the exhibition hall. The flower arrangement was displayed on the first day of the exhibition and wilted completely on the last day, leaving visitors to see the flowers in a different state each day. The inspiration for my shoes was the flowers in Araki’s photographs, so I combined my shoes, Araki’s exhibition and pop-up shop with this bouquet of flower arrangements. Came up with a pop-up store for both shopping and exhibitions. My shoes will be available on four different dates during the month the pop-up is open, and the color of the shoes will be determined by the color of the bouquet on the day of the launch.
I wanted my pop-up to wait for better publicity, so I decided to use social media to do it. I think using Instagram is a great way to spread fashion news. So I planned to post the promotional page for my pop-up on my Instagram page, and other users who forwarded my post to their own page and collected 30 likes would get a free ticket and a souvenir book. In this way, more and more people will know about this event, and I will have more customers.
